Member of the Spanish Pain Society SED, Spanish Multidisciplinary Pain Society SEMDOR, European Pain Federation EFIC, Convergences in Pelviperineal Pain, Spanish Society of Craniomandibular Dysfunction and Orofacial Pain SEDCYDO, International Association for the Study of Pain IASP.

His main interest is the application of advances in neuroscience in the treatment of chronic pain.

He teaches postgraduate courses at different universities on the treatment of complex pain, chronic pelvic pain, spinal column treatment and orofacial pain.

He is the introducer in Spain of neuroscience education and the biopsychosocial approach in the treatment of pain.


SUMMARY PAPER

A review is made of the role played by advances in brain neuroimaging in pain. A review is made of the different ways and strategies that have been used to determine the brain changes associated with pain in recent decades and which allow us to understand a little better what chronic pain is.
